Fabulous walled garden well worth visiting.
Probably the strangest garden experience we have had! Following the directions to the car park, we found we were the only people there. Payment is by an honesty box, which we duly contributed to, and we picked up a map of the garden. Visiting in September some of the plants were going over, but in summer I'm sure this would be an even more colourful place. To wander around a garden and not see a single person, was a strange experience, and even the cafe is totally self service, with help yourself food, drinks and even soup. You write down what you have had, and once again make your payment in an honesty box. It was like being in the Marie Celeste! Having said that, it is well worth a visit if you enjoy your gardens, and work is ongoing to make it even more attractive. We enjoyed our afternoon ramble, but in many years of garden visiting, this is the only one where we didn't see another living soul.
An absolute get and the epitome of a secret garden. There is an honesty box for payment as well as a cuppa and pastries if you so choose. We went in September and it was empty. A tranquil and peaceful experience.
Hidden gem. And honesty box. Could not fault it. We had such a peaceful afternoon. Sitting and listening to NOTHING. absolute silence with occasional bird song. But don't want to spoil it by top many going.
Amazing gardens beautifully laid out. Lots of on going gardening work but that makes it nicer to be in. Very relaxed and everyone friendly and helpful when needed. Would love to go again
