I booked Autumn Folly because of its excellent reviews. It's not a hotel but a b&b bungalow in a residential street. At first welcoming the owners soon changed their stance when I said I wasn't happy with the very small room and shared facilities. It wasn't what I was expecting from the pictures and description and represented poor value.I contacted the booking company to find somewhere else and was told the owners had to cancel the booking,in order to be relocated.I visited them again and had a horrendous doorstep experience. Their pleasant facade well and truly lifted. The conversation became heated and I felt very intimidated and at a loss as to what to do.I contacted the booking company again who were sympathetic. Against my better judgement I visited Autumn Folly again, to grudgingly accept the accommodation, so as to not lose my whole booking. I was taken aback when the owners not only refused to allow me to stay, but refused to cancel the booking. I was told it was to teach me a lesson and if I didn't leave their front garden they would call the police.Needless to say I left and found comfortable lodgings elsewhere. I was therefore surprised to be awoken by three policemen banging on my hotel door well past my bedtime. It dawned on me that this was part of the lesson being taught to me. Pre-emptive strike I'd call it although I wouldn't be so petty as to return with the police to their home and attempt to have them charged with claiming monies under false pretenses. What have I learned? Stick with hotels, taverns, inns and guesthouses run as proper businesses, not private dwellings with pointscoring owners.I feel very disappointed and let down. Also surprised at the police allowing themselves to be used in this way.
Five star service from our lovely hosts who could not be more welcoming and accommodating! Lending us coats, boots and gloves so that we could make the most of the unexpected snow in our beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend this gem of a B&B in stunning Cirencester!
Had the pleasure of staying here whilst on tour. (I'm a coach driver). Fantastic stay. Did more to help than any hotel I've stayed in!!. I had early starts and late finishes.They both went above and beyond to help. Gave me my breakfast one evening as not getting it in the morning.They didn't have too but much appreciated. It was like coming home to your parents house.Recommend to anyone. Absolutely lovely.
